Green and Greener

A family friend of mine has a green store in LA and she sells alt menstrual products. On the website (click the title) you can buy moon jars (the jars you put used cloth pads in) as well as cloth pads. at the store, she sells the diva cup. If you're in LA you should come check out her store she has great products.

Reusable Cloth Tampons

I never thought about making reusable cloth tampons! i have definitely gotten used to feeling more connected with nature with the sponge. i will probably never buy/use one of these but it seems like a good thing to have around when you are surprised by your period in a place where it is unsanitary to put in the sponge or maybe you dont have your cup (or its too hard to get it in). (now that i said that i think i just made a great argument for getting one) i couldnt imagine my housekeepers' reactions to seeing it in the laundry! they would probably throw it out. the good thing is that you can get a little bag that you put it in when you wash it.

i really enjoy spending my down time looking through new alt products. its always fascinating to see what people come up with. i have become quite settled with the sponge and the cup so it seems my adventurousness has died down. i know reader comments are quite low on here but we always welcome people's insights about their product usage.

also please send your love and positive thoughts to our readers in Japan after having gone through such a devastating natural disaster!

thanks!
