Yep, its pretty rockin'!! i have been a tampon user since i got my period at 13 and straying away from them was hard. but i did it and i'm really glad i did! The sponge is awesome!
it's like wearing a tampon except you rinse it out. I just picked it up today ( i couldn't yesterday cause i was in too much of a rush). and i cleaned it by boiling it (i don't have all the crazy oils and minerals they say to use) and then shoved it in! i was at school today and i went into a single person bathroom and washed it and shoved it back in! its so easy! it's not as fun as looking at a pool of blood like the cup but there is a lot more physical contact with the blood (so thankfully it doesnt gross me out!!). i actually had a little problem cleaning it because some of the blood didnt want to come out. but i got it. mission accomplished!
about two hours ago i went to go clean it again (in my shared dorm bathroom) but there were a bunch of people in the bathroom and i didnt want to wash out the sponge in the sink in front of them. that would have been awkward. that was one of the really great things about the cup, was that i could change it anywhere! like last night i was at my friends apartment and i needed to rinse out my cup. so i went to their bathroom. there was more blood than i thought! and i was sooo afraid that it wouldn't flush all the way or i dont know some freak thing would happen and they would see menstrual blood everywhere! (My friends are boys so it had the making of a very awkward situation) But i got it all down the drains and was good to go. i have the image of the blood going down the toilet and the water turned bright red! i was so scared that there would be red water in the toilet after! aahh! it's actually really funny and i would have gotten such a kick out of one of them seeing bloody water!
well i really really need to clean out the sponge! i havent changed it in like 6 hours.. which isnt good! i hope i didnt leak everywhere.. cause i refuse to wear a pad! sadly i would rather have an accident than wear a pad!

--> Maybe you need an adventure in the anti-alternative? :P Gotten a little caught up with the wonderful world of the alternative? lol
Coleen, it is not necessary to boil your Sea Pearls sponge.Boiling toughens your sponge and shortens its usable lifetime. Sea Pearls come to you ready to use - just wet, squeeze out the water and pop in!
